The Willowdale Youth Council headed down bright and early to Queen’s Park to participate in a tour of the Ontario Legislature followed by an exciting session in Question Period.
Shortly after they were met by Minister David Zimmer, also MPP for Willowdale, Minister Coteau of Child & Youth Services and newly appointed Minister of Community & Social Services, MPP Yvan Baker, and Minister Naidoo-Harris of Education to have discussions on youth policies that directly affect them.
Premier Kathleen Wynn surprised everyone by dropping by and engaging with the youth. The day ended with a meeting with Minister Del Duca, MPP of Vaughan, where he shared his own experience on joining politics; he provided advice to the youth on how to build successful careers. Gazal Amin, Youth Coordinator at the Liberal Caucus Service Bureau facilitated an engaging discussion on getting youth involved with the community and the need to have the youth population represented.
Great job Youth! Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what you'll do next...
